One year ago, a mob of supporters of former President Donald Trump breached the Capitol, halting the counting of the country’s electoral votes while imperiling the safety of members of Congress, congressional staff, and others who were working in the building on that day.
A day that still angers me. As the Jan 6 committee peels back more of the onion and more of these seditionists are brought into the spotlight, I hope that all the liars, grifters and current members of Congress who assisted the Trump administration in their failed coup, are brought to justice. It amazes me to this day that there are still folks gaslighting and projecting a false narrative about that day. Apparently, the Fox news folks talk one way off the record but then switch on the showmanship for cameras, cowards that they are!
January 6, 2021 was a bridge too far for me. I listened to the Trump grift from election day right up to his bullshit speech on the ellipse in Washington DC. You remember the one right, “I’ll be right there with you when you march on the capitol”. I couldn’t find him in the hours of video, just lots of folks carrying Trump and confederate flags and screaming “stop the steal” or “hang Mike Pence”, all brought there by the ego and Big Lie of one man. Oh, that’s right, he was watching it on TV and laughing about it, a testimony to his character. I was reminded of the writings of Wayne Barrett that I read in 2005, “Every relationship is a transaction” for 32-year-old Donald Trump, wrote Wayne Barrett in 1979, when he was the first investigative reporter to take Trump seriously as a threat to anyone within breathing distance. “Donald Trump is a user of other users. The politician and his moneychanger feed on each other. The moneychanger trades private dollars for access to public ones.” Spot on description!
I see folks day in and day out talking about voting integrity, the election was stolen, we need to retore faith in our elections, those folks are patriots, blah, blah blah! As I stated in one of my previous posts, the election wasn’t stolen and there was no massive voter fraud, your guy lost by 7 million votes. Republicans should change their motto to “Democracy works, as long as we win”.
President Biden gave a fiery speech today of the anniversary of the attack on the capitol, quite frankly it was about time he called the grifter out. Our republic is on the brink of collapse, I think it’s time for folks to be less partisan and more AMERICANS, our country needs it right now!
