As a follow-up to my comments to Tony’s FB post, political comments on FB drive me crazy. As I’ve stated before, most of them are inaccurate, misleading, and out-right dumb. I actually had FB friends stating that Biden had been in office 40 days and he already started a war. The current president responds in kind against a group who bombed our troops (just as every other president before him has done) and these naysayers proclaim Biden is starting a war. REALLY!
Some FB friends posted pictures of higher gas prices and commenting “Thank the Democrats”. What the hell did the Democrats do that caused gas prices to go up? Do you think that maybe it has something to do with OPEC cutting back production? Several of my FB friends threatened to leave FB and move to another platform that would allow them to post whatever they wanted, even when it was false and misleading. What a novel idea, join another social media platform like Parlor (no longer active), so you don’t have to listen to those who don’t agree with you. You just want to post fact-less lies and have everyone agree with you. Now that is a good way to open your mind to different thought processes. I have a novel idea for you, maybe you should crawl back under the rock you were hiding under, so you don’t have to deal with anything.
Then there is the post comparing the collection of drivers licenses because drunk drivers kill people, with the implementation of laws that limit large capacity magazines because of the mass shootings in this Country. Please take the time to think things through before posting. The government is not taking your weapons. The laws need to be tightened without limiting constitutional rights. The other post that is inaccurate, is the comparison that tries to support the fact, that the same amount of emissions are produced to make electricity for electric vehicles as is produced to make gasoline for combustion engine vehicles. Not true. The electric factory generates electricity to power the electric vehicle, that when operated does not produce any additional emissions. A refinery produces emissions when refining oil into gasoline. Then the combustion engine vehicle releases more emissions when it is operated. Now if you want to talk about battery disposal as an issue, then I agree.
Don’t even get me back on posts that covered the events of Jan 6th. There was nothing patriotic about that, NOTHING! All caused by poor leadership. In my opinion Republican leaders like of Ted Cruz, Mitch McConnell & Lindsey Graham should be ashamed to call themselves servants of the people. They lie and change their story as often as their underwear. When are they going to stop lying? When are they going to stop saying one thing on Tuesday and blatantly lying about it on Thursday? Don’t get me wrong, there are democrats that do the same thing. This is a problem with our political system. Unfortunately, the bigger problem is we accept it, and in most cases believe it is ok. We need to stop believing conspiracies and lies.
Those same conspiracies and lies are driving Republican led legislatures across the Country to tighten voter laws making it harder for you to vote. Lies that there was blatant, widespread fraud in the past election. Problems with mail in ballots. All not true, and all vetted out in the courts. Are there some flaws, yes. The system may never be perfect. And the flaws found are never great enough that they would overturn or change an election. Even with that, these legislative bodies are moving forward with making it as hard as possible for citizens to perform their constitutional right. That is what should concern you. Our own elected officials working to take away our constitutional rights. All based on lies and conspiracies.
Folks really need to spend more time thinking and reading before you post. If you are just going to re-post shit that others post, or post political pictures that don’t cover the entire subject, or you’re going to post sound bites taken out of context, then this would be the time I use my favorite personal quote “You should keep your thumb up your ass, to stop your brains from falling out.”
