With Christmas rapidly approaching, I thought I would make a list of the best Christmas songs. I went with the best Christmas shows last year, so let’s check out the music and pick a top ten off my Christmas playlist on my phone.
If you have never seen the Trans-Siberian Orchestra in concert, do yourself a favor and go see them! Hands down their best Christmas song is an instrumental, O Come all Ye Faithful/O Holy Night, the guitar rift for O Holy Night is awesome!
Next up, let’s go with a classic, Frank Sinatra singing Mistletoe and Holly. Sinatra is the best crooner on the planet and hits it out of the park on this one!
My favorite version of Run Rudolph Run is from Sheryl Crow, this song rock!
This classic almost didn’t happen. David Bowie hated the Little Drummer boy and refused to sing it with Bing Crosby. Ian Fraser sat down and created the Peace on Earth portion of this duet. The rest as they say is history, this is definitely the past and future making odd bedfellows.
Is there anything better than the Ronettes singing Frosty the Snowman? I don’t believe so!
I’m not a big Beach Boy fan, I love this song, Little Saint Nick!
It wouldn’t be Christmas without Charlie Brown, the Christmas special opens with this one, Vince Guaraldi, Christmas Time is Here.
Classic Elvis here and quite frankly, one of my favorite Elvis songs! Santa Bring my Baby Back to Me.
One of the greatest tragedies in music, is Karen Carpenter dying so young. Her voice is stunningly beautiful, Merry Christmas Darling sums it up!
Let’s have a tie for 10th place, Bing Crosby with White Christmas and Nat King Cole with the Christmas Song!
Merry Christmas All!
