I have spent the last few months listening to right wing, conservative media, and individuals. I watched Fox News, Newsmax and listened to a few of the speeches from last weekend’s CPAC conference and have reached the following conclusions:
These folks have lost their minds!
They cannot or chose not to deal in reality!
Most important, these folks are dangerous to our republic!
Every time I listen one speak, I think to myself, “What color is the sky in your world?”
Let’s start with the news media. Fox News which recently lost a 787-million-dollar lawsuit for lying about 2020 election fraud is still hard at work pushing their Trump is our savior nonsense and President Biden is out to lunch. The Fox News entertainers, that should be their real title as they are not journalist are supposed to deal in factual news, these folks wouldn’t know or accept a fact even if Rupert Murdoch gave it to them. Their reality is quite simple just bend the knee to Donald Trump! Newsmax and OAN, they dwarf the gibberish Fox puts out but all of it, is just plain propaganda!

The Conservative Political Action Conference/CPAC which took place over the weekend is a gathering of his MAGA people, Republicans, and other neofascists and followers, Trump is like a father figure, preacher, and god messiah prophet all in one person. In that way, CPAC is Donald Trump’s “church family” – only the church is full of fascism, racist, hatred, wickedness, cruelty, and other anti-human values, beliefs, and behavior. Democrats should put the CPAC speeches on a loop and play them for the American public, you would see firsthand how crazy and dangerous MAGA world is!
Mr. Trump’s CPAC speech was full of his usual rhetoric, economic doom, violence in the streets and of course, how the 2020 election was stolen from him.
He compared himself to pro-democracy activist Alexei Navalny, who died under the authority of Putin’s regime last week. Trump continues to praise Putin and his ruthless ways, last week he recommended that Putin attack NATO and do “whatever the hell he wants”. A real profile in courage from the former president. On a side note, during his rambling speech, Trump called his wife Mercedes instead of Melania. If Joe Biden did that, it would be all over Fox news.
Last, when I speak with folks out here in the real world, it amazes me how uninformed and how they will not accept object reality. Every day I see someone on Facebook post about closing the southern border. Republicans and Democrats since the year 2000 have both had full control of our government at different times. Why didn’t they pass immigration legislation then? Seems like a simple thing to do when you have the power, why haven’t they done it?
The economy by all accounts is doing extremely well. All the facts and figures that economist use all point to a great economy. People tell me, “Well, it’s not as good as Trump’s economy”. I say, “Actually, the numbers are better”. “Those numbers are made up”. The very same information that Trump used to boast about were factual for him but are made up for Biden. I also like to remind folks that the last three economics collapses this country has had in 2001, 2008 and 2020 were all at the hands of Republican leadership and dropped into a Democrats lap, all facts but still not accepted by these folks.
January 6, 2021, didn’t really happen with these folks, don’t believe your lying eyes, it wasn’t that bad. Some folks were just walking around the capitol so that makes the other ones who were breaking windows and doors and beating up law enforcement just a tourist group that got out on control. Pure and utter nonsense but every day someone post about the alternate reality of MAGA world and turned these criminals into hostages. Another flip flop here
If we are not going to accept reality and deal with the facts, how do we fix anything in our country? It’s going to take both parties to deal with all the issues that are affecting our country in these times. I’ll be honest, neither one of these presidential candidates do it for me, but the choice is binary, Biden or Trump. Personally, I’ll go with Biden’s aging brain over Trump’s dementing brain and that folks is reality!
