I read an article the other day that many Trump supporters believe that God has chosen him to rule. Trump is going to lead in the final battle between good and evil, that republicans are angels and democrats are the demon seed, blah, blah, blah! Before I get started here, let me be as transparent as possible. I don’t believe in God, any deity for that matter, I believe the Bible is a book of fairy tales and I’m not worried about hell or Satan as I believe that is also a bunch of BS but I realize a lot of folks believe in this stuff so as I always say “to each his own, whatever gets you through your day”. Allow me to digress on this topic.
I spent twelve years in Catholic school, and I have an Eidetic memory, so I remember a lot of the information the priest and nuns tried to teach to me.
Let me see if I follow this “TRUMP IS A MESSENGER FROM GOD” thing. This deity who hasn’t said a word out loud in over 2000 years, watched two world wars, Korean & Vietnam conflicts, other countless wars, the Great Depression, the Holocaust, children starving all over Africa, priest and clergy molesting young children while holding the book he wrote in their hands has decided to send this con-man with a bad comb over, who has bankrupted numerous businesses, ripped off all sorts of folks with his scams, sexually assaulted several different women, insulted war veterans from every era, lies like a rug and tried to overthrow an election he clearly lost is this deity’s messenger, this stupidity is mind numbing!
Let me show you Trump’s knowledge of religion and God, pay attention to this video:
Know why he doesn’t name one, he doesn’t know one. This man has never looked or read a bible in his lifetime. Even the worst christian could come up with one verse from the bible, not this guy. Everything this man does is transactional, he gets no monetary profit from the bible but he’ll still use it to pander to these folks!
The current version of the MAGA GOP must be the most anti-people group I have ever seen in my lifetime. They have no platform, stand for nothing, want to slash every social program they can, don’t believe in women controlling their own bodies but want to control everything children learn all the while claiming to be Christian God-fearing folk. If I hear one more Republican politician claim that God called him or her to this mission, I’m going to stick my finger down my throat!
I must have learned about a different Jesus because the one I learned about was a kind and generous person who accepted everyone into his camp. If the MAGA GOP wants to claim the moral high ground, here’s a few pieces of advice, try to be a little like Jesus, show some humility, be generous to a fault, learn to love and accept everyone and most important, try picking a candidate who stands for something other than his own narcissism and misogynistic ways who panders to the religious right just to get their vote!
